Chronologie is a fic-forward anthology celebrating Neuvillette and Wriothesley’s love across time and space.

Chronologie is a fic-forward anthology celebrating Neuvillette and Wriothesley’s love across time and space. The project will pair writers and artists, meaning each fic will be printed with black and white spot art. While the project will be fixed Top Neuvillette/Bottom Wriothesley, we encourage participation from both fixed and switch shippers. However, the Discord server space is strictly Neuvithesley and does not allow for discussion of any other ship.To realize our theme, canon compliant, canon divergent, and alternate universe works will be included.Chronologie is run by 804Blossoms. You can find our carrd here.

What's a zine?

"Zine" is short for "fan zine," which is short for "fan magazine." It is an unofficial collection of works, including fan fiction, fan art, and sometimes even merchandise, centered around a theme. In our case, we are centering our zine around the relationship between top!Neuvillette and bottom!Wriothesley with an anthology-style focus on fan fiction.

Will the zine be digital or physical?

This depends on our interest check, but we hope to provide both a digital and physical version of the zine, as well as an ebook format.

Is the zine for-profit?

Yes.Should sales allow, we will compensate contributors with the anthology and any associated merchandise. Profits after sales and fulfillment will be shared equally between the moderators and contributors.

Will the zine be SFW or NSFW?

We will publish a SFW physical book with a NSFW digital add-on.

How old do contributors need to be to apply?

All contributors must be 18 years or older at the time applications close.

How many contributors will you accept?

While we plan to have approximately 15-20 pairs of writers and digital artists, along with 3-5 merch artists, this is primarily an invite-only project with limited apps.

What is expected contributor output?

Artists will produce one page art and spot art in black and white that accompanies a fic. The number of spot art pieces will be determined by the IC. Writers will produce one fic, the length of which will be determined by our IC.

Since this is an anthology-style project, what does that mean for art?

Art will be black and white. All artists will be paired with a fic for art. Experience with black and white art is not required! Please don't hesitate to submit full color work in your portfolio.

May I apply for more than one position?

You may, but please keep in mind your workload carefully.

Is the Discord server fixed?

Yes. Even if there are switch creators involved in this project, the Discord server will remain strictly Neuvithesley. This also means we will not allow conversations about any other ships. The only ship that will be discussed in the Discord server is Neuvithesley.

As an anthology, Chronologie will feature black and white art using styled shading, such as cross-hatching.Because we are looking for a specific type of shading, we’ve put
together this style guide to help inspire potential applicants, as well as give a sense of direction. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to reach out and ask in our Retrospring.

This is a very classic type of illustration found in novels, but there are many types of media that can be used as examples. Just make sure that any shading techniques are cross-hatched, lined, or strict black and white—gray tones will print muddy on uncoated pages.

Comics and Manga are another perfect example of the type of shading we are expecting.

And lastly, here are some examples of what we’re looking for in terms of spot art when it comes to shading—smaller pictures with that hatched look about them, just in your style.

We are NOT asking you to change your style, just to adapt to this specific type of shading!
